  • Best Raw Sunflower Seeds- Soaked I water the sunflower seeds for 4 hrs to make them sprouted, drains and grind them into a pâté with anything added for the ultimate spread.

Facials Fight Aging


Facials should be done on a regular basis and NOT once a year or whenever you feel like getting them.  You will see the best results when you have facials every 4-6 weeks.

Facials vary as we all know but to me the basics always need to be completed during any facial to make it benefit you and your skin.      
  • A skin analysis that covers how your skin is doing and what issues you want to over come. 
  • Exfoliation
  • Extraction
  • High frequency 
  • And some type of finishing products. 
If these are not being done then you are not getting the benefits of a true professional treatment.

Now, I believe that facials should actually be skin therapy.  I have been doing Esthetics for so long that I just can't do a basic facials anymore.  I know I can do so much more for the skin.  And certain treatments like LED light therapy,Oxygen therapy, Ultra Sound and high peptide treatments all can make a difference in the skin.  But here is the catch.  They have to be done on a regular basis to make a true long term change in the skin.

So one has to ask.  Is it cheaper for me to be consistent on my facials or do I want to pay a whole lot of money on alternative measures like Botox, fillers and laser.  I think having a relaxing, therapeutic anti-aging facial is much more beneficial and relaxing then having injections every few months and fillers pushed into the skin.

Summer Ready? Fat Flush Body & Mind!



What's the Protocol to get
 SUMMER READY?

Fat Flush the Body & Mind.


Step 1:  Drink this infused water for a fat and water detox.  Drink a minimum of 3 glasses a day but preferably the whole pitcher throughout the day FOREVER!!

Recipe:
Put all ingredients into a 64 oz pitcher. (If adding herbal tea- I like the TAZO passion fruit herbal tea) brew 32 oz of tea and then add 32 oz of cold water (then add the rest of the ingredients)
  • 1 Grapefruit- cut into slices
  • 3 tangerines, 
  • 1-2 cucumbers
  • Hand full of mint leaves.  

Step 2: Take Geri G.® Green Meal Caps on an empty stomach in the AM and afternoon. 
Take the Geri G.® Essential Meal (after exercising) preferably in the AM.  Second meal in the afternoon.


Step 3: Trampoline with 1 pound arms weights for minimum of 10 min - 30 mins (maximum) a day. 
Take off the arm weights if they get to be too heavy after 10 min.


Step 4:  Walk 10,000 steps a day or 3-4 miles. Get a pedometer - It REALLY helps.


Step 5:  Eat fiber and potassium rich foods. Such as: organic flax meal, chia seeds, cucumbers, brussels sprouts (the vitamin C in brussels sprouts helps metabolize fat-120% of vitamin C to be exact!!), kale, asparagus, cauliflower, cabbage. Just about anything green but NEVER soy! 
No need to take a supplement when you eat your greens everyday!  .


Step 6:  Have extra plant protein instead of flesh protein which is very acidic (the key to lasting weight loss and a life free of diets is eating alkaline foods and omitting acidic flesh in your diet as much as possible).  One extra serving of plant protein should help shed the fat. The body doesn't store protein it needs it to burn fat and release fat burning hormones.
  •  Hemp protein and brown rice protein are optimal choices.

Step 7: Drink 64-80 ounces of water a day (which you should already be doing)!!


Step 8:  No coffee or black tea. It makes you hold on to water and therefore makes you look bigger than you really are! Ahhh!

Step 9: Get 7-8 hours of sleep everynight.

Eat to Sleep!


Trouble sleeping?  Tired but can't get enough Zzz's in?
      I always tell my clients one of the missing links on the discussion of health today for longevity and anti-aging is the need necessity for absolute  SLEEP.  

The body cannot function properly without recharging which happens during a good nights sleep.

When someone looks in the mirror and they see dark circles puffy eyes don't looking skin tiredness in the eyes yellowing in the ice a sluggish digestive system.  All of those symptoms are a result of lack of sleep.

The body has an natural detoxifying process that happens when we sleep.  It is our job to guarantee the body that opportunity to detox.  When we fail the body we fail ourselves.  our health suffers, our hormones get confused and  our chances of living a anti aging lifestyle are deceased.

Eat to sleep means just that.  When we eat with a purpose it gives food power.  Food is a drug. It was put on this earth to feed us.  It is when we take it out of that content text that it becomes abused miss used and works negatively against us.

When you eat to sleep you want to make sure you are giving your body
-enough water
-potassium
-minerals
-protein plant based sources such as brown rice, hemp and sprouted legumes.

The Key to have a balanced hormonal release throughout the day. 
Green vegetables, cruciferous vegetables. Plant based protein, chia seeds and flax. water 

When you eat these foods and drink enough water throughout the day preferably before 3 PM you will be ready for bed- tired, exhausted and shutting down by 8 PM.

Skin at its Best: Series 2


Walking is an excellent and healthy way to get fit and/or lose weight.  Walking is the easiest way to lose weight as you change your eating lifestyle along with eating habits. It can be done anywhere!

Combine your walking habit with strength training workout that I gave you and you will be able to build muscle content, which burns calories at a higher rate than fat, even more ways to use energy without killing yourself or making yourself feel crazy about staying fit.  


How many steps do I need to take to lose weight?
Each mile that a person walks burns roughly 100 calories. If a person was to commit to walking and uses up 300 calories each day equals 2,100 calories a week. 

After just 1 month, that’s roughly 9,000 cal burned, which equates to approximately 2.6 pounds lost without killing yourself or your knees or any other part of your body.  Accumulating those three extra miles a day could be as simple as making small changes in the way you look at being active.  

How many miles a day do YOU need to walk to lose weight?
Remember, it’s all a simple math equation. 

Lets talk numbers:
 1 Mile = 1500 steps for average person.(  I am 5'0 so its 2,500 steps for me to reach a mile.)
 1 Mile walked = 100 calories burned
 3 Miles walked = 300 calories burned
 300 calories x 7= 2,100 a week burned

If you take in 1,200 a day x 7=8,400 calories 
If you normally take in 1,500 calories it leaves you with 2,100 deficit plus you are burning an extra 2,100 a week.
That equals 4,200 calories a week of burning up,extra energy(fat). 
1 Pound = 3500 calories 

  There is the math.  Just by walking you will lose over 1 pound of fat stored energy!!!!!  If you want to lose it faster you just walk more steps. Not kill yourself going fast. It's not about speed it's about distance.  That is what our bodies were made for. Walking distance at normal pace without injury and stress.  Just go out and walk one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door. Just like the song says!!

AM:  
 Step 1: Wake up and have your Geri G. Green MealCaps Step 2. 
 Step 2: Once you are fully awake do the 

Daily quick 5 min wake up toning/ strengthening fat burning routine. 
      20 repetitions of each exercise - with or without 5 lb. weights.

1. Bend over butterfly 
 2. Bicep curls
 3. Triceps dips 
 4. Push-ups
 5. Curtsy lunges  (20 reps each side)
 6. Chair leg squeeze for inner thighs
 7. Towel curl ups for Abs -  (20 reps center, 20 right side, 20 left side
 8. Sit with the soles of your feet together and try to bend over your feet.  Stretching the inner thigh and hip.
9. Close your eyes and take 10 deep breathes in through the nose and out through the mouth.
  
Remember to stretch!

Try, Try, TRY, TRY: Try to walk 10,000 steps a day or 3 miles.  Doesn't matter how you get it in - just get to that number everyday. (Pedometers are a great investment to help make sure you reach your mark! 

Please Remember:  Please consult with your doctor if you have any health concerns.  If you are experience pain/symptoms that occur during exercise can be warning signs.  You should stop exercising right away if you:
- Pain or pressure in the left or middle part of your chest, or in the left side of your neck, left shoulder or left arm
                                                                        - Feel dizzy or sick
                                                                        - Break out in a cold sweat
                                                                        - Muscle cramps
                                                                        - Feel sharp pain in your joints, feet, ankles, or bones
                                                                        - Notice that your heart starts racing or beating irregularly

Nature's Secret to Health: Hemp Seeds


Hemp Seeds are one of nature's secrets to health that is still in the shadows of main stream health.

    To make it short and sweet hemp seeds are a protein based plant food that offers the body complete amino acids that are easily digestible and usable.  Proteins are the building blocks of cells.  You must have the right proteins available to the body in order for the body to metabolize and create new healthy cells.  Skin, hair, nails, organs.  You'd name it and its made with protein.

I personally love hemp by the spoonful.  But they are super in raw cookies.  They give a buttery cream taste to anything.  I throw them in my husbands salads everyday.  Effortless Healthy Eating.
